  •  *sigh* (6+ / 0-)

First of all, props to GLAAD for (finally) embracing transgender issues but it seems that everybody is so hung up on marriage equality, (which I enthusiastically support), that our right just to urinate when we need to is just left to languish under the bus that ran over us. How many on this thread really believe that once gays and lesbians have the right to marry in all fifty states, they will then turn toward our rights to employment, housing, medical care, a safe environment and yes, our right to fucking piss when we need to? Cause I'm skeptical.

The people who are pushing most for marriage equality are the assimilationist, rich part of the movement. They want to bring about their neoliberal paradise where everyone is equally oppressed by the market or invisible. They'll stop supporting the Dems as soon as they get marriage equality.

As if this will solve the queer homeless epidemic, or suicide epidemic. Or any other of numerous problems.

If debt were a moral issue then, lacking morals, corporations could never be in debt.
