  •  Right-wing media are villains twice-over here: (18+ / 0-)

First they rile up the gullible and unstable with their fearful and hate-filled worldview; then, when people like Rachel Maddow try to practice thoughtful, responsible journalism, Fox, Rush et al. make a stinky smoke-cloud, to hide their own red hands.

O'Reilly spent years calling Dr. Tiller a baby-killer, then claimed self-righteous innocence when Tiller was killed.

It's so distressing to see how Fox prey upon the old, the weak, the unstable, and the most dangerous elements of bigoted Real 'Muricanism. When I visit my Aunt in Texas (in her 80s, as many of her friends are), I see people who are much more scared of America and their future than they were a decade ago, and who are convinced to their bones that voting Republican (or seceding) is their one slim hope for a better America.

Neiwert both sees and makes clear the interplay between right-wing lies, selfish opportunists, and people who are too unstable to ever be trusted with guns.
