As a single person with no kids, I am better off in the city. It would be awfully lonely not seeing all the interesting folks here.

And I do not have to go too far to see the milky way! :)

I have not had to go to the DMV for a decade or so, I do it all in the mail.

    •  I wish I'd been smart enough... (6+ / 0-) deal with the DMV by mail. But I let my license expire a few years back, like an idiot.

By the time I got around to reinstating it, I decided that since I don't drive I'd just get a photo ID. I thought that would be less of a hassle, but I was wrong. The waiting in lines and such was just as bad as if I'd gone the whole license route. And now I wish I DID have a license because I could rent a car every now and then to get out of town (or even do the ZipCar thing).

I wonder if I wanted to go back to having a licence whether they'd make me do an actual driving test, or just the written exam...

    •  I'll agree (5+ / 0-)

to the single/no kids thing. As a 50 y/o single dude the dating scene here is ...not great. Did I mention I bought a travel trailer? :)

The better I know people, the more I like my dog.
