  •  We must be related somehow because this guy (12+ / 0-)

sounds like most of my relatives on FB.  I've actually had to defriend a few because I just couldn't stand it anymore and it was upsetting my parents to have so many cousins at war with each other.  I noticed today that the haters have come up with their own version of the red profile that shows support for marriage equality.  Knowing my relatives it was killing them that so many people were sporting a profile pic that they couldn't take part in.  So they came up with their on hateful one.  Most of them don't argue with me though.  At least not the ones I'm still friends with.  I also got a few comments about "The election is over can we stop with all of the politics" after the election.  Which of course would not have been their position if their guy had won.  Which they believed was going to happen right up until Karl Rove conceded.

I've seen the woman and man bathroom sign cutouts variant and multiple people using one with a pink cross on a red background.

And I feel like causing mayhem, because that's pretty much the equivalent of using one of the evolution fish with feet and a cross for an eye (yes, that hybrid variant does actually exist now) as a comeback to a standard evolution fish without understanding that the symbology WILL be misinterpreted as 'I Am A Christian Who Supports This Thing' instead of 'I Am A Christian Making Fun Of People Who Support This Thing Because Jeebus'.

Prayers and best wishes to those in Japan.

      •  I'm seeing a lot of posts of a Rick Warren quote: (5+ / 0-)
Our culture has accepted two huge lies.  The first is that if you disagree with someone's lifestyle, you must fear or hate them.  The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do.  Both are nonsense.

You don't have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.

Because telling someone they are evil, equivalent to satan, trying to destroy marriage and the country, etc. doesn't mean you hate and fear them.  It just screams love!
