      to attend a given college?  All college admissions are in some respects subjective.  There is not objective standard that is absolute.  Many factors are taken into account.

      For example, children of alumni (usually rich white kids) get in much easier than anyone else)

      Same goes for job applicants.

      There are no objective standards that are absolute.  And friends and relatives often have the advantage.

      So really, affirmative action is not a good counter example, and even it if were it may well be the proverbial exception that proves the rule.
