  •  Easiest, most efficient solution is to require (0+ / 0-)

    doctors themselves to learn Spanish if they're going to practice in areas where Spanish is the only language spoken by some/many of their patients.

    This seems to be the issue - Spanish.  In cases involving less common languages...Asian languages, for instance...proficient translators are going to have to be available.

      It would only further limit the number of doctors practicing in these areas, which, often, already have far fewer doctors per capita than other places.

      •  It was half snarky. Seems most complaints are (0+ / 0-)

        really about Spanish speakers who are "disrespectful" by not having learned English.

        In other countries most physicians speak English - or they have ample staff who do - to accommodate visiting Americans.
