    the Massachusetts website and they use VitalCheck also.  Fee is $45 as opposed to $18 if one can manage to get to the office in person.

    I did have a certified copy of my birth certificate way back when, but haven't seen it since probably 1979.  Haven't had a physical social security card since I lost mine in 1975.

      I called the town hall for the city/town I was born in and pressed Zero to get a real person on the phone.

      They were able to help me.  I will mail request, $15 for Certified copy, $6 for additional copy and a self-addressed return envelope.  It turned out to be as easy as this, but the state would like to help enrich VitalCheck imo.  

      Also, re:  State

      I asked the person at the town hall to give me a number for someone to talk to at the state level (another issue I have with a sealed BC).

      I called the number for the state and pressed 0 to get a person.

      Somehow, get a real person on the phone to help you speak to a real person about getting info on where to send what.
