    but from what you wrote I get the feeling it is a case similar to many I've read about in the past.

    FBI or cops undercover, find a group of younger folks that are not that bright and maybe more than a little impressionable.

    And to be honest mad about this or that.

    The cop or informant then gives them the idea for something that could be called terrorism. Basically tells them what to do.

    Then they are arrested and we get headlines that our government stopped a terrorist attack, that would never have been an attack if a government employee didn't give the folks the idea in the first place.

    Is that what happened here?

    When opportunity calls pick up the phone and give it directions to your house.
