Take the state of North Carolina for example:
Senate Bill 410: Makes NC a constitutional carry state and allows concealed carry in schools.  Senate Bill 342: Makes it legal to carry guns in restaurants that serve alcohol.  HB 17: privatizes permit holder information.

Yes, indeed, the tide is changing.  Some places are recognizing that guns can be carried safely in public.  Now if only the D's were to officially adopt a pro rights stance they could sweep the elections and we could really start achieving progress.

controlled legislatures aren't any sign of a pro-gun tide.  What they are doing is just offering rancid, red meat to their shrinking core constituency.

that the NC Lesislature can't mention climate change for the next four years. Can't even bring it up in discussions about coastal development legislation.  And that has introduced a bill that you don't have to have legal training to be a judge. You just have to have been a cop. You really don't do your cause any good to point to the NC legislature as proof of anything good or reasonable.

      •  Your attempt to twist my words makes my point! (0+ / 0-)

I am not trying to say the legislature is good.  I am immensely concerned about the damage they will do.

All of the things you mention, and more, such as voter rights, gay marriage, unemployment benefits, expansion of health care, massive education cuts, and the list goes on are all going to suffer because this state is making a hard red shift.

Pushing gun control is NOT helping!  The people do not want more gun restrictions.  They want solutions to prevent tragedies!

If I misunderstood you I'm sorry. I thought you were saying that the NC legislature is evidence that support for gun control legislation is diminishing. I was pointing out that the NC legislature is one driven purely by right wing ideology and not a reflection of NC citizen opinions.
