    I can understand how the Cat in the Hat got changed for PBS: the original was the archetype of a trickster god, let into the house while the mom was away and implicitly asking kids to lie about what happened.  Can't have a whole lot of that.

    But they also published a rewritten Fox in Sox with all the violence taken out, which pretty much ruins the whole fun climax of the story (where Mr. Knox gets fed up with Fox in Sox and shoves his ass into a bottle) and takes out several of the tonguetwisters.

    That's not even "gun control". It's more like "massacre control".
