Perhaps I’m more confused than I already knew… the “Readers and Book Lovers” is followed by the heart symbol and “unfollow” which seems to indicate that it is already being “followed”, right? And it appears in the “groups” that I’m “following.”

So are you referring to something else here? I am, unfortunately, about as un-techie as it’s possible to be.

I did check through the "Groups" and added two or three, but considering I already have more than I can read, adding more doesn't sound very practical. And I can't quite see how "Tags" works; it seems so general.

Perhaps you can tell me one thing: is it possible to remove individual diaries from your stream without unfollowing the person or group that caused it to be sent to you?  Y'know, after you've read through and commented, and 500 new comments keep straggling in and you know you'll never get back to read them all?

You are so helpful; my sincere thanks.

I noticed in your profile that you weren't following any tags. So I clicked your "following", and then clicked "groups". Only "groups" appeared twice on the page I was on. I clicked the "groups" that you belonged to, not the "groups" you were following. You were right, I was wrong.

I believe I just did some mansplaining to you.

I follow tags because, for example, there are about twenty small groups for music. So it's easier to track the music diaries that interest me by following "music", "rock" and "rock and roll". It's similar with "Israel" and "Palestine".

I don't know how to remove individual diaries from your stream. Personally, I'm pretty good at ignoring the diaries in my stream I haven't time for. Today I was busy writing my own diary - so, even though 22 diaries appeared in my stream, I've only opened 6 of them.

You're welcome, for the parts of my advice that actually proved useful.

I noticed all the music groups; one of these days I'll get back to the list and see if I can figure out which ones are "my" kind of music.

I suppose I'll just learn to ignore stuff too; I'm afraid that just seeing it on the list makes me feel guilty if I don't read it! Must be undiagnosed OCD....
