and you will see links to some of the other cams.  Yesterday afternoon, a couple of the ski resorts had a lot of snow, and you could see a ski lift or two working.

Sometimes the links to the cameras go down.  Weather over there can get bad.  I remember one April back in the 1990s, the weather station on top of Grandfather Mountain recorded a straight line speed of 196mph.  Most people don't know this, but low level jet streams form at night. They are typically not all that turbulent, but can really blow you off course.

I once flew from Memphis to Jackson, MS, which is almost exactly 200 miles.  I climbed to my assigned altitude, which was somewhere about five thousand feet, and it seemed that I was crawling. That was in a twin engine airplane, but I had a LORAN (that was before the days of GPS) and I was showing a true ground speed that varied from 59 to 69 mph. It took me 3 1/2 hours to fly that distance which ordinarily takes just a little over an hour.  My point is, that Grandfather Mountain is subject to some extreme weather at times, and it affects both weather instruments and mountain cams.  I talked to a real estate agent once about the cameras.  Seems they are great for attracting business, but are a constant headache to maintain.  Just keep watching.  It will come back.
