    but ...be sure of what you have first before disassembly. heh.

    we usually fill everything with water before I start any plumbing projects...it may be a while or two before it works again.

    risk vs reward.

    the sharkbyte type fitting snap onto clean copper pipes, I have been down in SpiderTown replacing the water lines the tweakers stole from under the house, I am attaching PEX tubing with sharkbyte fittings essentially blind, one hand access.
    so far so good, no epoxy needed...yet.

    nice part besides no flame under a 120 year old wooden house is the fittings are easily removed and reused. deburr inside and out carefully, clean carefully.
    bad part, no flame when the spiders attack.
