  •  Yep Which Is Why the 1st Steps of the Rightwing (7+ / 0-)

Revolution that began back no later than the mid 1960's were to assemble and construct messaging apparatus, and a strategy to take over the mainstream public square.

They recruited evangelicals first as a populist base but second because of their radio- and televangelizing messaging infrastructure. Major rightwing messaging and policy thinktanks were set up back in that time so that when the rightwing was able to get Reagan the nomination, there was already enough influence on the mainstream conversation that he could win the election promising to begin ending of our system.

are still mesmerized by celebrity nobodies, wedge issues on steroids, and Facebook.

As Postman predicted, television's form does not allow rational discourse. TV is entertainment. TV combined with propaganda is brainwashing.

I used to think the internet was the antidote to TV, but it has become more colonized by corporations, full of disinformation, and surveiled by the PTB as TV ever was.

As they continue to chip away at our right to own anything (in electronic form), to take pictiures of crimes in public places,  to hide behind voicemail systems and call centers in India, we find ourselves increasingly in an open-air prison. And a privatized one at that. Coming soon: drones everywhere.

History is just about over in America. It may live on in other countries. But the global corps are busy dis-assembling countries for scrap (cf. Greece, Cypress).

As you might be able to tell, I am not optimistic.
