exclude those dubbed 'RINO'? These are Obama's appointees, after all; they're not excluded from the mix.

    •  I'm pretty sure that the GOP rejects (0+ / 0-)

people like LaHood, Hagel & Christie as RINOS. In fact they just did. And Obama didn't even appoint Christie to anything, just hugged him.

Still waiting for a list of non-RINOs who are worthy of respect. I.e. current Repubs in good standing with the party faithful. Ginsberg ain't one of them. He's just another ratfucker, polished variety, like David Brooks.

    •  Ok I've got one for you (0+ / 0-)

Ted Olson. Still can't forgive him for 2000 but he's been very admirable and effective on legalizing gay marriage, and to my knowledge few if any Repubs have kicked him out of the party for it. But that's probably because he's an incredibly smart and tough operative with lots of connections that few are willing to cross, and also because this issue has become dangerous for Repubs to oppose. But if Obama appointed him to the commission, I'd be ok with that. I bet that deep down he wonders if he'd acted differently in 2000 whether his wife would still be alive, so election reform might be a personal thing for him.

but actual non-partisan experts are a better choice.
