    But I can go to a gun show and buy an assault rifle with no background check.

    Owning an assault weapon in CT is a class D felony. Selling one to you is a class C felony. So I would say that no, you can't, at least not legally.

      Owning an assault weapon in CT is not a class D felony for everyone .
      Selling one to you is not a class C felony for everyone .

      You put it in black and white .
      Its far more interesting than that .
