I just assume she is speaker again since everyone seems to be talking like once this passes the Senate, the president signs it and we have some smart gun laws in place.  But the GOP house will do nothing but blow their noses at this (at best).  They will never let a vote happen and even if they did vote, it would fail miserably.  What's the point to pressure a Senator for no benefit?  Just to show you can?

Tact is just not saying true stuff. I'll pass.

to pressure the House. They have passed some legislation with a majority of Democrats instead of Republicans a few times this year; you might be familiar with those stories. Hasn't been that long since VAWA was passed, for example.

In February 2013, the Senate passed an extension of the Violence Against Women Act by a vote of 78-22,[8] and the House of Representatives passed it by a vote of 286-138, with unanimous Democratic support and 87 Republicans voting in the affirmative.[9] The extension was signed by President Barack Obama.[10]

We demanded a plan to reduce gun violence. Now it's time to demand a vote.
