    Thanks so much for posting this.  It is a good summary of Chavez's profound respect for participatory democracy.

    Nicholas Maduro, likely to be elected as the new president, worked with Chavez every step of the way since 1993, and will likely carry on the push to deepen the democracy and improve the lives of the Venezuelan people.

    It is long past time to bring these kind of people-centered policies and real democracy home to our United States.

    Convict Bush, Cheney and their torture cabal. Support universal health care,unions, WikiLeaks and Occupy Wall Street! Time for a totally new, democratic economic system. Turn the corporations into worker cooperatives!

      Lovely diary, though I agree with gjohnsit that more links would make it even better. I believe the more we research the man and his legacy, the more there is to be learned.
