    At first I thought there must have been a fair amount of Green party/Socialist party pres voters who voted for Sanders, but neither was on the ballot and their nominees only got a few hundred write in votes while there were conversely 10,000 total senate voters who voted for the marijuana party or a left wing 3rd party other than Sanders. So he definitely got a not-insignificant number of Romney voters to vote for him.

    I'm not familiar with Vermont's regional demography or economy at all, but here's what the Sanders - Obama map looks like by town:

    Particularly in those far northern towns there were definite Romney/Sanders voters while in the lighter blue ones maybe not.
