I don't care as much about the Mcdonnell incident as he is term limited anyway, but hopefully this doesn't cause primary issues for cuccinelli. Well, hopefully none large enough to lose the primary at least.

    •  The GOP nominees will be picked by convention (6+ / 0-)

not primary, guaranteeing a Cuccinelli win.  This is essentially what led Bolling to drop out and consider an independent bid; he felt, not altogether unreasonably, that the nomination was essentially being rigged for the Cooch, never mind what the general public might think.

Even if the nominations were contested I don't think these revelations would have a big impact, at least until the nominations are settled.  They don't strike me as disqualifying (not that I'd vote GOP anyway if I still lived in the state), but Cuccinelli's "I didn't know" defense sounds pretty lame.

    •  Cuccinelli has the primary utterly locked up (6+ / 0-)

The filing deadline is today, so unless he dropped out of the race or something, I don't think its even physically possible for him to not be the GOP nominee.  Maybe a some dude or two filed, but there'd be no chance the GOP convention would pick them over Cuccinelli unless Cooch was caught performing an abortion or something.

Opening the door to Terry Mac's business dealings. Cooch is very beatable on the issues thus I would try keep the focus there.
