with cheese on it, or not, I could be in gut pain and sometimes shaking for several hours after.

The general issue of having trouble accepting food was recognized centuries ago by the author of "Auld Lang Syne" who penned a mealtime grace that opened with words in which the widespread woe of hunger was addressed 2nd behind a less obvious but real problem some people have: "Some ha'e meat and cannae eat, and some would eat that want it."

The reference to the bag was not intended to be funny, because the real world phenomena it was related to are decidedly not funny. Maybe Carrey intended it to have a funny element that dosen't work for anyone, but that's secondary to the basic need to make the statement. If anyone made an analogous reference to my situation in that context I'd be cheering them on.
