    He was saying that demand is what drives the economy.

      He was emphasizing demand coming from the work force.  Which would be nice, and is how industrial democracies work.

      But the 1%ers (and by that I mean the .01%ers, the real power money) don't want the US to be that country any more; that's just so "TC".  They want the US to be another Belgian Congo, where the locals are just resources to be exploited.  

      So he's being too optimistic, not pessimistic, as the Forbes and TED masters thought.

          Rich Europeans and Asians.  Fellow 1%ers.  Drug cartel leaders.  Whoever.

          He's right that the "job creator" myth is total bullshit and that lower taxes don't create jobs.  And a more equitable economy with more money for the 99% would help, not hurt, business.  But my point is that the actual filthy rich who control the process don't care; they can find customers for what they're selling.
