Authorities just found a TX DA and his wife shot to death in their home.   On January 31st, an Assistant DA in the same county was murdered.   Just last week an alleged Aryan Brotherhood gangmember murdered the CO chief of prisons before being killed in a gunbattle with TX police.   So far, NONE of these things are related.  I repeat - there is no evidence suggesting that any of these three incidents are connected in any way.   However, back in December the Texas authorities issued a safety alert, warning that they had "credible evidence" of a plot by the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas to go after any LEO/court personnel responsible for the recent convictions of certain Houston-area ABT members.   STILL NO CONNECTION.

Then I stumble upon this little paragraph in a "timeline of events" summarizing everything I just told you in a Dallas paper:

November 2012: Houston-based Assistant U.S. Attorney General Lanny Breuer announced “a devastating blow to the leadership of ABT” with indictments for 34 members, including six from North Texas. Documents reveal that a high-ranking leader ordered the April 2008 killing of a recruit, ordering that it be made “as messy as possible” to send a message about what happens to those who cooperate with police. He wanted one of the recruit’s fingers as a trophy. Other members used a blow torch to burn off an Aryan Brotherhood member’s tattoo for refusing to do as he was ordered

Now Breuer has resigned.   Again - nothing suggests any connection, but it's still a weird coincidence, no?

      Definitely a weird coincidence.

But there's more than enough evidence of Breuer's incompetence re: wall street prosecution, so maybe it's best not to divert too far off into speculation.

But  i have seen that timeline of events (minus Breuer) before and it is quite bizarre.

      Deficits don't matter, jobs do.

    •  Wonder why he targeted them? (0+ / 0-)

The ABT isn't wealthy or socially connected, there's no money Lanny can make going after them.

They're incredibly dangerous, crazy people, but they don't sound like the kind of crimes or criminals Breuer would care anything about. I won't go there.

      Interesting catch.  Really odd.

It is an old strategy of tyrants to delude their victims into fighting their battles for them. FDR
