    First, while observing at the recount of the Kloppenburg/Prosser election, we were able to see that on many ballots the voter had chosen Chris Abele for county executive but had left the Supreme Court section blank. Low-information voters obviously didn't know enough about the candidates for justice and skipped voting in that race. More outreach to them would have helped.

    Second, from talking to numerous Milwaukee voters in the past year, I think a great many of them have learned the hard way that elections other than presidential are also important. Scott Walker is wildly unpopular in the central city, and people seem willing to vote for anyone who is likely to oppose his policies. Outreach has made many of them aware that an election is coming up. We can only hope that they will actually make it to the polls on Tuesday.

      to be unaware of the election.  That's why volunteer activities, person to person contact, and phone banking are extra important.

      There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.
