  •  Knitting is great for so many things. (8+ / 0-)

I'm cranking out scarves for my church's craft table --  me and a dozen others.  Just a simple garter stitch (for multi-colored yarn) or a little k2-p2 ribbing (for solid yarn).

So they keep my hands occupied and generate funds for a worthy organization, all at the same time!

Even if one isn't a member of a church, or if one's church doesn't do fairs, I never knew a church fair craft table organizer to turn away donations.  :-)

And church fairs tend to be advertised, so keeping one's eyes peeled will yield all kinds of information.

And so helpful in keeping your hands busy. Fidgety quitters who are also crafters can donate blankets, afghans, socks, scarves, hats, etc. to shelters, assisted living homes, and local charities, too. And many schools will accept donations, either for fairs/sales or for a general "warm clothes" supply they keep in the office or a classroom to give to kids who aren't dressed warmly enough.
