      because 11% is a bit below the national average for African Americans, while 11% is way above the average for Mormons.

      •  We don't describe influence as relative to the (0+ / 0-)

        national average.  Native Americans (technically Alaska Natives) are very common in Alaska relative to the country but nobody talks about their influence.  Why?  Because they're still a relatively small percentage of the state.

        Really the only places where Mormons significantly matter are Utah, ID-2, and whatever number Matt Salmon's district is in Arizona.
