What exactly does 'successfully' mean in this context?

    •  For starters, (0+ / 0-)

for any reasonable length of time--say, longer than six months.

And which employers tend to regularly employ illegals? Gee, you'd think all these honorable, all-American Job Creators wouldn't hire such people.

I mean, if you have some cites broken down by, say, "time frame" and a list of employers, feel free to post them. Again, specifics are what we're looking for here.

      •  actually, we should say one year, minimum (0+ / 0-)

as a base time frame, since that is what labor statistics tend to be averaged against.

      •  Why does it matter (1+ / 0-)

If a person who is in the country illegally works for 1 month a place, then it's a job which an American could have done for one month.

If it's a temp worker a company wants, then they would have hired temp American workers.

If the company doesn't get temp American workers, may be they would have more for temp American workers. May be they would have made the position permanent to attract American workers in the absence of people willing to work temp.

Also, specifics may be what you are looking for, but I don't think it's relevant.

It's a simple fact - any job (be it 1 day or 1 decade) which an undocumented worker does is potentially a job which an American could have done.

        •  Because you need to support your (0+ / 0-)

statement such that it resembles something other than your opinion, that's why it matters.

That's ok, I can see you aren't willing to do that--otherwise, you'd have done it already instead of doing a Texas Two-Step around it...

          •  Opinion (0+ / 0-)

First of all - my question 'Why does it matter' was in reference to time period. Since you introduced the time period, you need to support your statement that it affects citizens only if the undocumented citizen holds the jobs for 1 year or more.

            •  You need to support your original hypothetical (0+ / 0-)

before I--or anyone else--needs to support the mechanics of a follow-up question.

And you haven't done that yet, 'cuz you got nothin'. You need way, way more practice at this sort of thing....

              •  Support (0+ / 0-)

There is nothing to support - it's an obvious thing

If the worker pool increases, then worker's pay reduces and the possibility of worker being unemployed increases.

If it was, you could back it up with something besides your opinion.

We know why you don't, of course. Trust me, if there's anything in this thread that's obvious, it's that.
