  •  "vulnerable" doesn't enter into right-wingers' (6+ / 0-)

calculations.  They go after people viciously, with lie after lie, until the person is destroyed by the sheer volume of lies.

We progressives keep thinking rationally.  These tea baggers are not rational.  They are vile haters who will attack, ridicule, humiliate and fabricate anything they want to, whether a person is vulnerable or not.

(which is exactly why no one should be trying to compromise with them - there is no such thing)

weather the storm better than Gore. But the attacks will be vicious and withering, as you note. But I think the Good Guys are better positioned and organized now to fight back.

    •  There is environmental crossover with some (0+ / 0-)

religious types.  I have a theocon coworker/friend that "high fives" me as he calls it on environmental issues, based upon his desire to be a good steward of the earth.

Cannot get him to agree with much of anything else of course, and we argue, but seeing as this is a bridge I have with a real live theocon, maybe it is proof that it could be worthwhile to take this message to the religious institutions as well.

Give them something to throw their weight behind that isn't gay marriage or abortion!

Agree on one topic, and the truth you lay down on others starts to soak in.  I did get him to admit cutting spending alone isn't a fix it all, or even a fix something...
