Trip #1 was in about 1970 when I went down the Kaibab Trail to the river and back up again in one day....done with a bunch of Wolverine dormitory buddies on the way back from the Rose Bowl.   Pretty exhausting trek, even with just carrying water and no gear.

Trip #2 was about 1978....  Down the Hermit Trail to the river, and then the Tonto trail to the Bright Angel Trail and back up again.

Trip #3 was with my ex-wife.....back down and up the Hermit Trail overnight.

for the hikes under your. . .feet. . .LakeSuperior, but especially for the Hermit trail. If you did that in one day I bow to your stamina. That's a toughie. I pulled that stunt years ago, only returning via the Boucher (to the west of the Hermit). Guess who got lost a bit in the darker hours? Anyway, as the quaint saying goes, "thems bragging rights, mister!" (Part two of the Grand Canyon diary shows up tomorrow around, 9, MDST, and on Monday I think you might be interested in the special supplement posting on a tour de force of all the Grand Canyon's trails. I'll post that around 3 in the afternoon. (I'm still sitting here trying to finish the research and writing the material). Thanks, as always, for posting a comment. You're quite the Grand Canyon trekker (and that's not a Trekie, ok?).

Treat the world (yourself, and others) as part of a living organism. Everyone and everything will benefit.
