    and lots of those, Leftcandid, I can assure you. But attitude is gratitude and wearing the proper clothing, hydrating and munching (often), and decent footwear, sunblock, a hat, sunglasses and stamina. . .that'll get 'er done. As for the toe-jamming problem, the other kind. . .you could always try walking into the canyon. . .backward! And what does that tell you about my many years of guiding folks in and out of this or any other canyon terrain? I suggest the So. Kaibab trail going in (leave as early as possible) and the BA trail coming out. It makes for a grand loop tour, and besides. . .the views along the So. Kaibab trail are wide open. (See this coming Sunday's diary...hint. . .hint.) Thanks for posting the comment, as always.
