    to distance themselves from truly hideous bigotry which, even two years from now, is going to be a liability for some former anti-equality politicians.

    I wish supply side economics could crumble like opposing gay marriage has.

      than economics.  And those who wish to withhold marriage equality from GLBT citizens have nothing but the bible to back up their bigotry - no think tanks or professors or  business professional organizations willing to base their identity on withholding civil rights.

        things like Focus on the Family and similar groups that are full of "professors" from such illustrious institutions as Liberty and Bob Jones

        •  There is no comparison between (0+ / 0-)

          gay rights and supply-side economic theory. One is a periferal social issue that really affects a very small sliver of our society/population.  As I said, above, there really is no money in it either way for the economic Powers that Be.  The other is the whole life structure of those same Powers that Be.  They will defend conservative economic theory with every weapon they have and to the last breath of the last man standing.  ALL of the money is in that.

            and influence that the Christian right has, if not with politicians directly then with the rank and file of the Republican party that will literally do whatever it takes to stop the slouch towards Gomorrah.
