right to make this decision, I don't think that this type of door-slamming purism is a part of the solution.  But then, I have family members on my hub's side who are fine craftsmen.  I'd hire any of them.  They also hunt.  Some are NRA members.

    Conversation is important.

Can you call yourself a real liberal if you aren't reading driftglass?

door and spending the time with you/the customer and giving you a valuable service, the time, the talk, the free estimate, I know I have been discriminated for and against for all the stupid ignorant dumbass reasons people in their ignorance and irrational fear can come up with. As a contractor you win and you lose based on a lot of extraneous reasons.
I have asked others why they wear hats, tees,  or have bumper stickers and other political messages and basically, they use them as a filter to filter out customers that would be difficult.

And it works both ways, I often end up with a higher bid if I see irrationality in a potential customer realizing it is going to take more time dealing with them.

And I have canceled work with people who I discovered to be politically objectionable.

Maybe this contractor was happy he wasn't hired after he saw the Obama bumperstickers.

know those family members.  But in my home, it's not the contractor's family or your in laws that I have to worry about.  It's my own.

Your in-laws might very well be good and decent people, but if they showed up in my drivieway looking for work, while at the same time sporting an offensive bumper sticker on their vehicle, I would be loathe to hire them.

You insinuate a safety risk based on a single bumper-sticker.

Please, defend your position so that it doesn't sound like stereotyping or bigotry.

        Your hate-mail will be graded.
