  •  With your Addams Family knowledge, you should (3+ / 0-)

    go on Jeopardy!

Apparently, little things have always bothered her; I've just never had the pleasure of experiencing them before.

    "My ears are cold."
    "There's a draft."
    "My socks are too tight."
    "The light's too bright."
    "My bottom hurts."
"The Life Alert necklace bothers my neck."
    "These tissues are too rough."
"The seats on the shuttle bus are too hard."

    Shut up already, lady!

And, yeah, she is having trouble adjusting, but we thought she'd bounce back after FIL died.  He never let her have any friends, he made all the decisions, and they never did anything except go out to lunch almost every day.  You'd think she'd be having a ball now, but no.  Heck, I'd live there and go on field trips out to dinner, to the casino, to S.F., and to the Ugly Dog Contest in Sonoma, play Wii bowling and Bingo.  They have a hairdresser onsite and a shuttle bus to take them to appts. and to church. Musicians come and play for them all the time.  You can lead a horse to water...

    •  whoa! Maybe it's too many choices. That happens (3+ / 0-)

with kids and breakfast cereals, and with deciding what to wear.
      Some kids.

Heck, she's got a better deal than a whole boatload of folks I know!

      You made me laugh, though:

You can lead a horse to water...
Reminded me of one of my dear mum's:
You can lead a horticulture, but you can't make her think.

Yeah, the coffee is kickin' in!

We cannot call ourselves a civilised society if we refuse to protect the weakest among us.
