Hey, webranding, I thought you might have already done the calculation, but my spouse and I went through a quick review of that $10M proposal Priebus advanced.

If you figure you need to run this effort over the next four years, that gives you $2.5M annually for the program.  We figure that the Republicans are going to need to hire people for this effort.  Anybody with enough smarts to be in the field managing the offices will cost at least $40K annually, all up.  If one throws in office expenses, each field operative is going to run at least $50K annually.  That means Priebus can be thinking of fielding only about 50 outreach operatives per year for the next 4 years.  Does anyone believe for a second that would be adequate to even start the job much less do it effectively?

These numbers are bare bones to the max, both in terms of the compensation offered to the operatives and the ground support, and the figures still yield a marginal operation.  The RNC would need to start thinking in terms of $100M programs if they want to be believable.  Otherwise, this is all just window dressing to garner reporters' attention.
