because of lack of interest...but because, as was proved yesterday, it DOES NOT MATTER what we think...one way or another.  So, if talking amongst ourselves is somehow satisfying, I suppose it will go on.  But, the truth is it's just empty talk.  Not because anyone wants that, but because if we/you/whoever doesn't have millions to line the pockets of the house and senate, what you think/want, what I think/want truly doesn't matter.

The topic doesn't matter.  Chained cpi, universal health care, war, prosecuting the banksters, food safety, simplifying the 14000 page tax code, drug laws, privatization of prisons...it doesn't matter.  Unless you can call up and say "i've got $X million to pay your happy @ss to vote this way. Then...and only then, will what we/you think matter.  Maybe.

Maybe...because lots of us squeezed a few bucks out of the budget to give an aggregate of $millions to those who PROMISED they would do x, y, and z.  Only Senator Warren seems to be fulfilling, as best she can, those promises.  Our president is not when he can, and cannot when he trys.

My personal opinion...the debate we need to be having is how and when to stop voluntary tax compliance.  Stop sending money, fight the system, and overwhelm the goverment's enforcement mechanism while filling the streets with unhappy citizens.

    •  May work for some (0+ / 0-)

Employers take the money automatically.  No one is going to be able to convince their employer not to deduct taxes.   And, for many people, not sending in their tax form, just means they won't get their own money back.

    •  Bloomberg put in three million of his own money (0+ / 0-)

to prime the pump, and various organizations are now collecting millions more. At some point we should be able to match the money from gun manufacturers and the organization of the gun Conspiracy Theorists. We will have to defeat anti-safety politicians a number of times before the rest of them get the message.
