  •  I don't know enough about the habits (7+ / 0-)

of herons to answer this question. Perhaps someone here has more information?

Even so, 35 herons in one spot would be a wonderful sight.

Do stop in again; keep us posted on your neighborhood herons.

I came for the politics and stayed for the science.

    •  there is one in the Goleta Slough (7+ / 0-)

just an hour and a half north of LA.

and a Cormorant nest tree south of here a bit.

Man, I missed this today, whatnhell happened, one minute I was getting ready to find the daily bucket and the next I was reading an account of exploring in Alaska, after several other items about Alaska.

Why Alaska? well...see...I don't remember, but there is a link I will post when I have both eyes open tomorrow. You will love it, if you haven't already.

(now I am trying to backtrack...offshore accounts diary, Haida war canoe video by Harrington ( never found it), Haida canoes, Haida artworks, fishing, old dkos diary by you, music, BC, Alaska, trains, abandoned buildings, Alaska, kayaks, more kayaks, oh yeah, I remember. whew!)

I was going to riff on these offshore accounts and post 'we're coming for you' with that grand video of the staged war canoe done by Harrington(?) back in 1905 or so.

      This machine kills Fascists.
