  •  fossil fuel electricity is in end game (0+ / 0-)

you seem emotionally or financially commited to nuclear

    •  Logically (0+ / 0-)

Committed to reality.  That's all.  Unicorn farts won't power the lights at night.  Maybe you are right and every other energy analyst on the planet is wrong.   Congrats!

      •  wind blows at night (0+ / 0-)

you seem to have trouble grasping that.

cheap PV by day, wind at night,

the trick is growing the management to handle more variability.

not a big problem, if you have some intelligence.

And by 2035 we will have the installed capacity it will take to do that.  In the meantime people will die because of the stupid ignorance of people like you

          •  the world is changing faster then you believe (0+ / 0-)

or have the ability to adjust your portfolio.

the UK is now seeing a fast growth in wind production.

            •  I sincerely hope you are right (0+ / 0-)

however, I'm watching events on the ground and I am seeing a lot of road blocks.  Environmentalists just killed 500 MW of solar here in California which represents about a third of the TOTAL installed capacity.  With the RPS being met, no new wind or utility solar are being planned now.  The utilities are pushing in Sacramento to make Community Choice Aggregation harder.  The wind production tax credit was very nearly killed in the last budget negotiations.

THere are all manner of difficult obstacles ahead.  I would be beyond thrilled if you were 100% correct.  HOwever, I fear that it won't be that easy, so we have to consider what happens when it is slower than that.

Wholesale prices are a buck/watt, and if the trend holds,
we will see some amazing discounts.

it's starting to get cheaper to make PV power and heat water electrically,  which is just nuts.

I have a old friend who is at SunEdison and they are getting now quotes on Whole panels at 50cents/watt.

                Thats a game changing price.
