    •  3.2 million disabled veterans benefits cut if (10+ / 0-)

the super dooper cpi is passed.

a congress that never lacks the votes for war funding, a congress that want to cut benefits to our disabled veterans, as too many in DC bang the drums for more war.

      from Gregory Heires diary

The proposed change also would affect more than 3.2 million disabled veterans receiving disability compensation benefits from the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

Veterans who started receiving VA disability benefits at age 30 would have their benefits reduced by $1,425 at age 45, $2,341 at age 55 and $3,231 at age 65, according to Sanders. Benefits for more than 350,000 surviving spouses and children also would be cut.

Since Chained CPI is less than wage growth, folks would see bracket creep, upwards. SO its an income tax increase too.
