when you work for the Federal govt and you are an "exempt" employee.  In my 20+ years with the Feds I have only gotten overtime when fighting fires.  Now we are supposed to get "credit hours" instead of overtime except in my agency (probably others too) we are prohibited from earning those credit hours ...... in other words, we are now expected to get more work done in less time.  The effort is to make sure we can't do our jobs well because we are overpaid moochers.  How many other science/policy folks out there with 25 years experience and can't even hope to get near to a 6-figure income?  Oh, and I have had to stick with the Feds because of health insurance reasons, with Hep C I can't be without insurance.
