    I would agree, except that it appears the sequester is having an impact, from these jobless numbers.

      ...suddenness in regard to the Pentagon budget is a bad thing. But far deeper, more gradual cuts should be made in the long run. Romney wanted to boost Pentagon spending by about $2.2 trillion over 10 years. I'd like to see it cut by that same amount. That would still have us spending, inflation adjusted, more than we were in 1959, when we weren't exactly getting along with the Soviets.
