  •  Before there was capitalism, property was (10+ / 0-)

    valued over people. If capitalism is to be defined by the use of money as an intermediary, I don't think money, which is a tool, should be blamed. Humans were kidnapped and then sold, but neither the kidnapping nor the sale were motivated by money. Rather, I'd argue, the exploitation of humans by their own kind serves some psychological purpose (makes some people feel good), perhaps as an alternative to finding the forces of material nature incomprehensible. In other words, I'd suggest that humans exploit other humans because they don't know anything else to do. It's sucklings grown large without having developed any skills with which to transform the natural environment to sustain themselves. It's like Eve picking apples and not having a clue about gardening.

    We organize governments to deliver services and prevent abuse.

      The definition of Capitalism is that ownership entitles you to a profit.

      Those who support banning cocaine are no better than those who support banning cheeseburgers
