as getting everything you ever wanted, it's always going to be a little out of reach.  Rich people are always going to be rich people.

Select one small goal, say... "Prevent Obama from putting all the dissidents in the private prisons he's building to hold them," and focus on that.

It's still a long shot that we'll be able to stop him, but it's probably more achievable than Socialist Utopia.

the great split that occurred at the dawn of the 20th century, between reformist Social Democrats and Revolutionary Socialists. While I, like you, am a reformist, I have come to think that we reformists need some fire-breathing revolutionaries in the wings to be the "bad cops" to our good when it comes to negotiating those reforms.

In 1979, the top 1% had  8.9% of the income. Today, 23.9%.

Saying the rich will always be rich obfuscates and excuses the tremendous failure we have been the past three decades, and continue to be, because incrementalism isn't even incrementalism any more, it's stepping backwards.

We will go down as a couple of the worst generations in history...for the general welfare, both economically and environmentally.

What's the point of letting neoliberals into the tent when neoliberalism is burning down the campground?
