My mother had (now i know what it was) Bi polar.  About every 18 months she went to the state hospital for 1-3 months.  Then she would come home, quit taking the Thorazine, and go back to the up and down.  This made for a very interesting child hood. Some days she would be Donna Reed and some days she would be Charles Manson.
When i joined the Marine Corps they thought i was odd.  Finally had to talk to the drill sargent.  I informed him that i loved the USMC the rules were the same every day and even though it was harsh no body tried to stab me or runover me with a car.  I was in heaven.  If i hadent gotten shot up i would still be in the Corps.
Yes PTSD is bad i cant go to a crowded movie and if we eat out im the one having to sit where i can see all the room.
But you live with it, or you dont.  The VVA helped me a lot and The VA has gotten a lot better and this info is also in the civilian world so find some one and get help its necessary.  Ill call you Sister cus going through this kind of things makes you one.  Sela
