    I don't know where you got the 177 K, but it seems from the order that the judge has told the defendants to present fee petitions on May 7.  

    That's not even "gun control". It's more like "massacre control".

          Turns out if you sue people like Zbig and Pete Peterson, they hire big guns. Looks like George Soros, the Jesuit Order, Penny Pritzker, and the national political defendants didn't even bother to file for their costs and fees. Eleven motions to dismiss probably racked up considerably more than $167K, unless they coordinated their defenses to keep it down. Maybe they drew straws to decide who'd bother putting fee affidavits together to get the guy slapped with something other than the statutory max fine of 10K. Good practice for some junior associate, I suppose.
