    Seize a vehicle that it assumes you use to get back and forth to work. Convicted felons have theirs seized (if purchased with ill-gotten gains) because they obviously won't have a job to commute to while serving time. Similarly, the government usually doesn't boot people out of their homes for unpaid fines. It simply files liens and waits.

    That's why there is a car and homestead exemption when you file for bankruptcy. They don't want to leave you destitute, homeless, and unable to work.

    Now banks on the other hand.....
