    sequester.  It is having an impact.  Politically, it is uncertain whether the reality of a Congressional engineered economic slow down will be enough to get the GOP to change course.  However, when you consider that liberals are winning the day on issues like gay marriage and background checks, we may be able to make more progress on the need for government spending and an end to austerity. After all, the GOP has conceded that there is no immediate debt crisis, but we do know there is a jobs crisis.  If we keep pushing the arguments against the sequester and for government spending, I think the Democrats may be able to end this stalemate by this summer.
