Bernero was not a good candidate for Guv, and Granholm was hated by that point.  Add to that the "moderate" Snyder and his "one tough nerd" campaign, and frankly, people in Michigan didn't give a damn.  Folks I talked to, including my friends and relatives, simply shrugged and said Snyder as a done deal, and they could live with that, because they thought he was a moderate.

Cake or DEATH? Oh, I'll have cake, please.

and he only knew that one song. he sang it everywhere, but candidates need to work for broad appeal. as union myself, i knew better than snyder, but he did appear to be moderate. especially compared to the slew of legislators we have.  i keep telling ppl of the importance of local candidates. this season's county commissioner or council president is next election's state rep.   the whackos that run locally are stunning. i've moderated forums for lwv and felt quite discouraged.

it wasn't persecution by a liberal government that persuaded the earliest immigrants to escape to the Americas.
