  •  My house is in that've probably been (9+ / 0-)

here.  We were kind of hoping for a historic designation here in Warren, but with the ouster of our Community Development Director (politics), that all appears to have come to a grinding halt.

And yes, intimately familiar with the 1917 deportation...

happened??  As I remember, they wanted to put the whole town in a district.  I also remember that there were a couple of residential areas that probably were a little too new to be included.  I hope the trees are still along the two main roads and or filled back in where there were some missing.  That strike and detention was an important part of the labor movement in the country as a whole.

Don't look so hot.  Years of drought, and years of economic slowdown (Bisbee has been in an economic slowdown since 1974) have taken their toll.  A few have recently been replaced...residents drag hoses across the street to water the ones that really need it.  The park looks better in places, worse in others.  Public works has a $4000 budget for annual sidewalk repair.  For hundred year old sidewalks.

People have really been fixing up their houses, though.  Mine is still a work in progress, but many of the big bungalows along the Vista are magnificent.  The Warren School is a huge house now, and is beautiful.  the Calumet & Arizona House is a beautiful B&B.  Warren looks, in general, a whole lot better than when I moved here.
