  •  Also, which Tisei ads are you speaking of? (1+ / 0-)

IllinoyedR said he volunteered up there and that the "ad" which was nothing but a view on Gloucester beach was not a real ad meant for tv, just a joke.

real ad or joke, someone posted it on you tube, and it also ran on local tv in at least two towns.

it is either complacency, arrogance, or evidence of a very poorly disciplined campaign to produce a joke like that and run the risk that it will leak.

Tisei, unfortunately, is a weasel. i know that our friend Illinoyed volunteered up here in 6 because he believed in Tisei; however- i've spent two years lobbying at the state house, and 12 years as an elected official here on the North Shore. I've lived here for more than 20 years. I know the district, I've worked in it and for it. I understand what it is like to volunteer for a candidate- you can get a little starry-eyed.

Tisei is simply a nasty piece of work. Nasty. There are some decent, hardworking republicans here in MA, albeit a rare species . Bruce Tarr comes to mind. But Tisei? There's a reason voters have refused to put him in higher office. If Tierney was such damaged goods, what does it say about Tisei that he had to raise so much outside money (when the national spigots were definitely turned off for Tierney, who was essentially left for dead), he coasted the last two weeks, and came up short and trying to play the race card.  Not much.

Tarr would likely have beaten Tierney.

As for Kim Driscoll, she would be a strong candidate; a likely successor if Tierney retires, but unlikely to challenge him in a primary. She's considering a run for governor run, from what I've heard.
