this may be right up there with the PC as more and more companies start building versions for home, all the way to military and govt use. Once they start selling thermal imaging cameras, the next step is a rifle/cannon capable of firing pinpoint .50 caliber rounds from a mile away at night.  Probably limited to the Govt domain for now, but I see no mechanical or electronic reasons why one couldn't be built from off the shelf components. The only area I have no experience in  would be recoil dissipation. They seem to be able to do that on regular armed drones very well so how long does it take for that tech to leak out?

Of course those will also fall under the second amendment clause. There will be a time , in the near future, when the idea of limiting large magazines and expanding background checks will be considered as well meaning but worthless.

"Damnnit, you can't kill your neighbors pets from a mile away and call it "pest removal" and the bit about self defense with hovering drones over your house with camera sighted mini-guns have gone just a little too far don't you think? "

Bwaaaa, second amendment rights. Call out the talking points. Picture of Musket next to assualt rifle next to armed personal protection drone.
